My vision for Dayton is simple, to build a city where people love to live, work, play and participate. Like you, I know our city can be a stronger, more robust community where our citizens thrive instead of merely trying to survive. Let me briefly share with you about some of the topics that are hold a special place in my heart.
Safety
I'm delighted by recent news that crime is declining some areas of Dayton. However, the average citizen still doesn't feel safe, and recent numbers confirm their fears. I believe that safety is the foundation upon which all other advancement is built. Until this issue is addressed, we will never reach our full potential. When you elect me, I will fight tirelessly to keep more police on the streets, explore every viable option to add more police, and increase the potency of our forces, no matter the size.
Government
I'm fed up with City Hall's general disinterest in the well-being of the average citizen. And I know you are too. It's time that our government leaders were reminded who serves who in our country. When elected, I will make City Hall a place that puts us, the citizens, first.
Economy
I'm passionate about creating an economic culture in Dayton that draws businesses of all sizes worldwide, instead of repelling them. As your next mayor, I can't wait to rally our business community's ingenuity, wisdom, and perspective to make Dayton a place where business booms.
Unity
I yearn for Dayton that is unified, where racial divides are torn down and we truly become a "city of neighbors", regardless if that neighbor lives in Walnut Hills, McPherson Town, Westwood, or anywhere in between. As Dayton's next mayor, I will generate initiatives that will bridge the regional divides that have hindered our city for far too long.
Citizen Involvement
Our citizens are our greatest asset. It is their insight, innovation, passion and concern that holds more potential than any bureaucratic government program. Yet, our citizens and community leaders are far too often dismissed or entirely ignored. I dream of a Dayton where our people are empowered and their voices heard. When our citizens elect me, it will be my heartfelt pursuit to ensure that they know that they are my most trusted advisor, not some government bureaucrat or political party.
